Helping Out

 

Passion for Tango Festival’s success has been achieved through the participation of sponsors, performers and the troupe of volunteers who help by; postering, driving musicians, billeting, taking tickets, serving food and keeping the site clean. By helping out you ensure that our tango adventure comes to fruition. You also ensure special access to this exciting festival.

Please take a moment to look at the different ways to get involved. By the end of July we will be searching for festival volunteers. Contact us soon please. Also, be sure to read about the Passion 4 Tango Cultural Tour to Buenos Aries, March 5th-13th 2011, a fundraiser for next year’s festival.

 

Volunteer:

If you’re looking for an exciting volunteer experience, let us know your name, contact info, volunteer experience and areas of interest or expertise, and send it to volunteer@passion4tango.com.

We will be vending empanadas at Canada Day Festival July 1-3, PrideFest July 10, Symphony Splash July 3, and some community markets. Volunteers are required for 2-4 hour shifts at these events. Please email volunteer@passion4tango.com.

There will be a pre-festival volunteer get together and orientation on August 10th. Flavour Find Foods will be catering a volunteer party that will take place 1-2 weeks after the festival.

 

Festival Sponsor:

This is your golden opportunity to place your corporate name front and centre with North America’s only tango performance festival. We offer many levels of participation and opportunities. In-kind donations are gratefully accepted from businesses for a fall fundraiser.

 

Becoming a Member:

Become a Passion for Tango Society member and help create the Passion for Tango Festival. Contact info@passion4tango.com for information and where to send your $10 membership fee.

 

Performers

Classic, Nuevo, electronic, fusion and Latin musicians; tango dancers and dancers from other forms that are choreographing with tango influence, flamenco and Latin and South American folk dancers, visual artists, performance artists, instillation artists, film makers, poets and novelists all can make submissions to the festival. Has anyone been missed! Artist’s can be local, from BC, Canada and the rest of the world. If you wish to apply as a performer, starting in September please send your info to our festival’s program coordinator at info@passion4tango.com for the 2011 festival.

 

Empanadas and 2011 Tour of Buenos Aires

You may see a Passion for Tango booth at some summer festivals and outdoor markets. We will be selling Argentinean empanadas and Yerba Mate tea along with promoting our festival. Our next big event you can try our delicious Argentinean empanadas at is the Symphony Splash August 1. Be sure to check us out early to get an empanada, they were so popular at our Pridefest booth we couldn’t keep up with the demand. And you can only buy them from Passion for Tango.

Ever been to Buenos Aires? want to see the birthplace of tango, hear music in concert halls, café’s and milongas of historic value. Or visit some of their many museums and art galleries, take in the 400-year-old architecture and cobblestone streets the city center is famous for. Join us on tour March 3rd—11th 2012 to experience the birthplace of tango.
